Mentoring the future stars of MedTech
Ben Wicks was again invited to speak at the 2019 Panacea Stars Bootcamp, an event that supports science and MedTech innovators through to commercialisation and beyond. With over 20 years’ experience in the science, engineering and commercialisation of medical devices and diagnostics, Ben is now a Faculty Member, guiding aspiring MedTech entrepreneurs through their business development plans.
Start-ups taking part in the bootcamp receive one-on-one mentorship from academics and industry professionals such as Ben, along with lectures and networking opportunities from companies across the MedTech and life sciences industry. The most promising start-ups also have the opportunity to receive non-dilutive investment to take their innovations further.
…the [bootcamp] participants are smart and hungry to learn how they can build sound businesses.
Ben comments “It’s always a privilege to teach at the Panacea Stars Bootcamp – the participants are smart and hungry to learn how they can build sound businesses. What is particularly impressive for science and tech-enabled businesses is their industry insight and level of commercial creativity.”
Ben has continued to mentor previous Panacea participants such as Adelie Health, a company that is pioneering digital technologies to help Type 1 diabetes patients manage their condition.
