Supporting you across the drug delivery landscape

Parenteral

Built on our knowledge and understanding gained from hundreds of injectable projects for 70+ global clients, our experience in the parenteral sector positions us perfectly to add speed, efficiency, agility and rigour to your device development programmes. We provide support across technical disciplines, covering all stages of development from direction setting to post launch trouble shooting and lifecycle management.

Our experience includes all types of devices and combination products. This includes vials, pre-filled syringes, pen injectors, autoinjectors, on body and near body pump systems – mechanical and electro-mechanical – covering intra-dermal, sub-cutaneous and intra-muscular delivery, needle-based or needle-free. Our expertise extends beyond devices themselves to include patient support information (paper-based and digital) and packaging as well as assembly, test and inspection equipment.

Pulmonary

Delivering end to end expertise in pulmonary drug delivery devices, we support clients from early concepting through pilot production, design V&V and post launch. Our experience spans all types of respiratory delivery system including pMDIs, blister based single-dose and multi dose DPIs, capsule and reservoir based DPIs, soft mist inhalers and nebulisers.

As well as carrying out full developments we assist with specific challenges including overcoming issues with aerosol performance, improving manufacturability, optimising user interaction and navigating regulatory pathways. Our highly experienced team combines insight, creativity and rigour to help you create robust, reliable and commercially viable patient centric solutions, whether improving existing platforms or developing next generation inhalation technologies.

Targeted drug delivery

Building on our deep, multi-disciplinary expertise in drug delivery systems and combined with our 40-year history in other medical device sectors including surgical, diagnostics and MedTech, we are increasingly working with clients to push the boundaries of healthcare in targeted drug delivery.

As part of a drive to enable more personalised medicine, this includes work in areas such as oncology, cell and gene therapies and radiopharmaceuticals. Our work spans intratumoral delivery of liquids and solids, image guided delivery deep within cranial tissue, direct to organ, catheter-based, ocular and aural delivery, as well as local delivery via active oral systems.

To address challenges associated with this sector we have developed and deployed specialist skills and techniques including advanced tissue modelling (combining in silico simulation with empirical tissue characterisation), multi modal imaging, biosensor development and system monitoring and controls. This allows optimisation of dose accuracy, placement and distribution, to help clients unlock new opportunities in these complex therapy areas.

Ocular

With over 15 years of ocular drug delivery experience, we have supported pharma and biotech companies across 36+ ocular projects and 800+ human factors sessions, including work with more than 650 ophthalmology clinicians. Our expertise spans sprays, vial kits, pre-filled syringes, sustained release implants, subretinal and transvitreal delivery, as well as digital tools supporting advanced ophthalmic therapies.

We provide end to end development and specialist support – from early concept generation and technology scouting to usability studies, design development and optimisation, risk management and regulatory preparation. Our experts help you create and ensure safe, intuitive and effective ocular delivery systems that meet the needs of both clinicians and patients.

Nasal

Our experience in the nasal sector ranges from landscaping and device selection for intranasal delivery, full technology device development, production troubleshooting including delivered dose and plume characterisation, and issue resolution in nasal spray manufacturing.

We have supported the development and pilot production of multiple, novel intranasal delivery technologies, ensuring robust performance, manufacturability and user centred design. Our multi-disciplinary teams bring human factors insight, design thinking, engineering rigour and applied science understanding to help you overcome key challenges from concept generation to regulatory submission.

Digital health

Whether you’re integrating digital biomarkers for clinical trials or deploying digital tools to improve patient outcomes, we enhance drug delivery solutions through advanced digital health. We design end‑to‑end digital experiences that integrate physical products and digital touchpoints across the patient and HCP ecosystem – from connected drug delivery devices, smart packaging and digital patient engagement solutions to apps, training and connected services.

Drawing on deep expertise in UX design and behavioural science, we identify where digital solutions create genuine value. Informed by continuous user feedback, our teams integrate SaMD across remote monitoring and connected device ecosystems to deliver seamless, behaviour led UX/UI that fits naturally into people’s lives, optimises safety, usability, onboarding and long‑term engagement, while supporting sustained behaviour change.

Design for high-volume production

Maintaining effective usability, design and reliability at high‑volume production requires a careful balance of industrial design and robust engineering. We help you create drug delivery devices that are high performing, compliant and optimised for efficient manufacture and assembly at scale.

Our approach integrates production readiness from the earliest stages of development, using proven DFM and DFA methods, tolerance analysis and process‑based risk assessment to ensure designs are commercially viable. Supported by our global network of approved suppliers and close collaboration with leading CMOs or your existing manufacturing partners, we help translate design intent into reliable, high‑volume commercial production.
