Team Consulting

Company update

Team Consulting has won a British Engineering Excellence Award (BEEA) for the emergency ventilator we designed to help tackle COVID-19. The BEEA has acted as a benchmark for great British engineering design for over a decade. Team is the winner of the Design Project of the Year category, which recognises the best design engineering teams in Great Britain.

At the start of the pandemic, it was predicted that the UK would need over 30,000 additional ventilators to help support COVID-19 patients. While medical device design and development usually takes years, Team was asked by the UK Government to join the Ventilator Challenge to develop, manufacture and deliver safety critical ventilators in just six weeks.

To respond to this national emergency, Team assembled a multifunctional team made up of 45 employees, working with 54 supporting companies including suppliers, manufacturing partners and advisors. This was an unprecedented development, involving inputs from across Team’s areas of expertise, including but not limited to project managers, engineers, and human factors.

“The project team dedicated themselves entirely to meet this incredible challenge, working day and night throughout the six week project. We’re delighted that the team’s collaborative approach and diligent engineering has been recognised by the BEEA. Thank you again to all the companies that supported us in developing this life-saving device.” – Steve Blatcher, EVA 1.5 Project Manager.
