Drug delivery trends – what everyone is talking about at DDL

DDL 2022 is well underway in Edinburgh and our team have been asking attendees for their thoughts on key questions for the industry. From day one, the results have been interesting. Traditional formulations and challenges are still driving the industry with over 50% of the respondents most interested in dry power formulation and usability and adherence, closely followed by cost as the main driving influence on future device development.

There is an equal split for challenges in inhalation products that the industry is facing: maintenance of existing product, limited drug pipeline, devices for clinical trials, changing regulations and sustainability are all obstacles to overcome.
