Ian is a Senior Consultant within the Device Testing group at Team. His responsibilities include management of analytical testing through device development programmes, including device design verification.

“The medical device sector of the industry is, for me, a fascinating and rewarding area to be in. Reaching the goal of getting a new device product to market means that a patient is getting the necessary treatment, which for whatever reason, they could not before. On the journey to this goal, the diversity of skill-sets and the interactions needed to be successful makes every day a learning experience and a good challenge.”

An analytical chemist by training, Ian has spent all his career in or around pharmaceutical and device testing laboratories. Prior to joining Team, Ian was with Mylan for over 6 years within their Global Device Development Group, primarily managing the testing aspects of their inhaler and injectable device projects. This spanned development, design verification, submission and into commercialisation. Before that were roles at Pfizer and GSK, testing dry powder inhalation devices in both Research and Manufacturing environments.

Ian holds an Honours degree in Applied Chemistry from Sheffield Hallam University (Sheffield City Polytechnic) and is a Chartered Chemist. Ian sits on the Materials Working Group for IPAC-RS (International Pharmaceutical Aerosol Consortium on Regulation & Science).
