At yesterday’s British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEAs), held at the prestigious 8 Northumberland Avenue in London, Team beat off fierce competition from other UK-based consultancies to be crowned ‘Consultancy of the Year’.
Team’s Director of Engineering, Chris Hurlstone, received the award on behalf of everybody, “We are delighted to win this award. Engineering is in the DNA of Team and the delivery of robust and capable medical devices and systems is paramount, so to be recognised for the work we do and the products we’ve developed is a very proud moment for all of us.”
A key contributor to achieving the award was the partnership with OrganOx Limited to design and develop the OrganOx metra. The system was singled-out by judges as “a huge project with real impact in a challenging market”.
OrganOx CEO Les Russell commented: “We are delighted that Team Consulting have received this award for their role in developing our metra normothermic preservation device. The metra was designed with extensive input from liver transplant surgeons and has been very well received by the transplantation community.”
