Team Consulting

Company update

Taking steps to reduce our environmental impact is a top priority at Team Consulting, both in our internal business practices and in the work we do for our clients. Our sustainability efforts to date have resulted in a Silver EcoVadis Medal, placing Team in the top 7% of sustainable companies in the scientific industry.

As sustainability continues to gain increasing focus within the industry, we want to be open with our clients about the steps we are taking to improve our sustainable business practices.

How is Team Consulting improving its environmental impact?

We have been on a continuous journey to date towards becoming a more environmentally friendly business. This past year we have been specifically working on a number of new measures to achieve this, including:

  • generating our benchmark carbon emissions measurements
  • partnering only with energy suppliers who generate 100% renewable electricity
  • reducing our energy consumption (including changing our lighting system, adjusting heating and ventilation systems in offices and labs)
  • continuing our commitment to offset all carbon from our business travel
  • installing electric car charging points
  • installing solar panels
  • improving our waste management system.

In addition to these measures, we have also been taking steps to help our employees expand their knowledge on sustainability and identify new ways to improve our business practices, including training, workshops and activities.

Gaining an EcoVadis Silver Medal has been really motivating; an independent assessment of our practices is essential to benchmark us and promote continuous improvement. I have been impressed at how much can be achieved with a focus on our sustainable engineering team’s partnership with the facilities, lab operations and EHS teams. Sometimes it does not cost much to make simple changes to business operations in order to make an impact. Having a sustainability mindset in all our processes is key to achieving this.”

Partnering with champions of sustainability

Alongside improving our own practices, we are also proud to support sustainability in the wider healthcare industry, such as through our involvement with committees in the British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association (BHBIA) and British In Vitro Diagnostics Association (BIVDA).

Accountability has been another important step towards achieving our goals and we continue to regularly communicate our progress to a number of organisations, including:

One of our key ambitions for 2023 was to learn more through the SDG Ambition Accelerator program led by the UN Global Compact to set meaningful targets that have the most impact to our energy and waste management. Our public report on the UN Global compact platform detailing our sustainability performance is our way to be fully transparent with all stakeholders and set our expectations with our supplier network. We want to lead by example and demonstrate our commitment.”
