Rachel works within the electronics engineering team. She applies her experience of translating research into commercially-viable products to the early stages of product development projects, supported by her multi-disciplinary background in drug delivery, ultrasound, particle manufacturing and programming.

“I am passionate about utilizing technical advances to improve healthcare and I am always fascinated to learn about new fields of research and their potential applications to medicine. Team provides the exciting opportunity to progress innovative ideas from the lab bench through to the clinic. To be commercially successful in the medical devices field, it is essential to have a good understanding of the many facets of their development. At Team, we recognize the importance of combining engineering, design and human factors seamlessly to create a product.”

Rachel completed a biomedical engineering PhD focused on ultrasound-enhanced drug delivery. This work was commercialized and she worked in the resulting spin-out company for a further 3 years. This provided her with an insight into the many different aspects of developing a product to reach clinical trials.
