Rob is\u00a0responsible for the management, planning and implementation of a variety of human factors projects both directly for clients and as part of Team Consulting’s product development process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are many things I love about the work but I\u2019ll stick to my top two: \u2018variety\u2019 and \u2018importance\u2019.\u00a0 Firstly, variety.\u00a0 One day I might be with a frayed mum and her six year-old spirited daughter whilst they get to grips with a new device. The next week I might be glued to my desk for hours, systematically documenting potential use-errors with a new device concept \u2013 you might also find me in the lab making low-fidelity models out of blue foam!”<\/em><\/p>\n “My second love \u2013 the importance of our work.\u00a0 In the medical sector HF really matters \u2013 but more specifically, the HF work we do results directly in improvements to devices, instructions etc, so our research really can save lives.\u00a0 This also means that clients are truly engaged with HF for the right reasons \u2013 they have specific questions and really value our creative and pragmatic approach to answering them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Rob joined Team in 2009 bringing some 20 years of human factors experience and training in a variety of sectors, reviewing train cab designs, improving software UIs and running various user trials (from large-scale, high-fidelity team scenarios, to one-on-one interviews).<\/p>\n Since joining Team, Rob has led and supported various projects, moderating studies in the UK, Europe and US.\u00a0 Therapy areas included rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, COPD, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, palliative care and multiple sclerosis. His work has included analytical and formative\/summative user research on health diagnostics, drug delivery devices and advanced primary packaging \u2013 from concept to production build.\u00a0 Rob also loves to continually challenge and improve upon our HF thinking and our approaches to solving HF problems.<\/p>\n Rob has a BSc in Ergonomics from Loughborough University and an MSc in Psychology of Education\u00a0from the University of London.
