Pip is a systems lab technician and lab lead for the electronics and optics labs, ensuring clients’ products meet technical standards. He manages lab operations, including equipment, stock and user training, while also handling hands-on tasks like test fixture building, PCB rework and writing software for data analysis. Additionally, Pip maintains antistatic records, conducts testing and performs occasional PAT testing.
“I really enjoy working in laboratories and getting hands on with different devices and electronics. With a background in electronic and software development, I have gained a valuable insight into what it means to develop devices, so I have a strong understanding of how they should be tested to ensure robustness and reliability.”
During his career, Pip has worked in electronics and software development as well as software QA for a variety of companies, including a small start-up developing software for stereo devices. Before starting his role as analytical test scientist at Team Consulting, he contracted at Team as an electronics technician while completing training towards becoming an electrician.
