Irina graduated from the University of East Anglia with a Master’s degree in Chemistry and obtained a PhD in Biochemistry from John Innes Centre in Norwich. She completed two post-doctoral positions and worked on a broad set of projects, from studying age related changes in collagen, to development of a carbohydrate-based vaccine against Coxiella burnetii.
Irina spent two years at a Norwich based start-up company and was involved in the development of point of care devices to detect SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses.
