Company update

Throughout 2016 we organised and took part in a number of charity fundraising events to raise money for the NSPCC and its ChildLine service, culminating in a £4,000 donation to the charity.

We supported the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) and ChildLine, its free 24-hour counselling service for children, by taking part in their ‘30for30’ initiative in the East of England. The 30for30 initiative sought to find 30 local businesses who each would support the charity by aiming to raise £2,000. Both Team and ChildLine were founded in 1986, and so to coincide with this dual 30th anniversary celebration, Sarah Laffling, Community Fundraising Manager at the NSPCC reached out to Team to see if the company would be willing to support the charity. Early in 2016, we began fundraising for the NSPCC by hosting a ‘Go Green for NSPCC’ day, in which our staff wore green outfits and costumes to show our support for the charity. This kick-started a number of efforts, from the small, such as book sales, sweepstakes and a charity auction to larger events, such as a ‘Big Games Day’ and sponsored challenges.

“Team has always been much more than just a business; it’s about community, and doing good. We like to think we can achieve this both through our day jobs, as well as through charitable initiatives.” – Rob Fernall, Senior Human Factors Consultant

Rob Fernall, a senior human factors consultant at Team, said “Team has always been much more than just a business; it’s about community, and doing good. We like to think we can achieve this both through our day jobs, as well as through charitable initiatives.” Rob continued, “Fundraising and donations are an important and rewarding part of this, and as we grow, we are hoping to build on this and come up with more creative ways of ‘giving back’ too. I feel very privileged to be a part of this, particularly at a time when we are putting more serious thought into these types of social initiatives.” After seeing Team’s total donation, Sarah Laffling at the NSPCC said “This is a fantastic result from Team Consulting and we were very impressed by the effort and enthusiasm displayed throughout their fundraising activities. Their donation will help vital NSPCC services, such as the Speak Out Stay Safe assemblies which advise children on how to stay safe from abuse. “Team Consulting have set the bar high, and on behalf of the NSPCC I want to congratulate them on their amazing achievement – well done.”
