Device testing group – developing our testing capabilities
As announced in October 2017, our facilities and capabilities continue to grow. Team’s now established device testing group, led by Jamie Greenwood, comprises 10 dedicated engineers, scientists and technicians with the skills to support projects at all stages of the product development process.
Our work for clients’ projects extends beyond testing to include defining product requirement’s specifications, interpretation of relevant standards and industry best-practices, authoring of technical documents, test method development and validation, and statistical analysis of data, our team has gone from strength to strength. Commenting on his new role as Head of Device Testing, Jamie said: “I take particular pride in using my passion in this area to help our project teams deliver data and analysis, in-line with or even exceeding our client’s expectations.”
As well as world-class people, we also have state-of-the-art, flexible facilities. Our ISO 20072-capable environmental laboratories make us uniquely positioned to accommodate inhalation Device Verification Testing (DVT) programmes, and we recently supported a client through their design verification program for a breath-actuated inhaler. Working to an agreed test plan, we developed and validated test methods and supported specification, procurement and commissioning of bespoke automated test equipment to enable high-throughput testing of the inhalers. We then executed and reported, to tight timescales, the DVT programme. The product is now commercially available following a 2018 launch.
Jamie and Ian Vaughan, Project Manager Device Testing, will shortly be attending the 3rd Annual Drug/Device Combination Products Summit in Amsterdam, so let us know if you would like to arrange a meeting.
