As an Applied Science Consultant, you'll play a crucial role in strengthening our core understanding of medical devices. With our expertise in design, engineering and human factors, you will work on developing medical devices from the earliest concept stage through to commercial launch. What you will be doing:
- Providing technical expertise to support the development of cutting-edge medical technologies across our key sectors: diagnostics, surgery, drug delivery and MedTech.
- Contributing to promoting our applied science capabilities both internally and externally through content writing (e.g., blogs, articles, knowledge sharing presentations) and by advising on internal capability development initiatives
- Supporting our commercial teams and stimulate our clients with our ability to apply core scientific principles to help meet their needs
Qualifications and Skills
What we need from you:
- Good degree, 2:1 or above in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Advanced studies in relevant or related area, i.e. physics
- Theoretical and practical experience in science, specifically optics, and applicants should also have experience of one or more of the following fields: electrochemical sensors, magnetics, acoustics, biochemistry, microfluidics, data science.
- Previous experience in a research and development environment
- Experience supporting the resolution of complex applied science problems
- Experience of coding to support design activities e.g. Python
- Analytical mindset and a strong background in data science
