Two days in Boston at PODD
On October 5-6, Brennan and I attended the 5th Annual PODD, Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery event at the Intercontinental Boston Hotel in Boston, MA. As supporting sponsors of the event, it was a great opportunity to catch up with some familiar faces and learn more about what is going on within our industry.
PODD was a mostly pharma-led event with a good focus on devices (particularly injectable) and delivery technology (pills and proteins). From conversations with some of our friends in the industry from this side of the pond, we all agreed that it was worth the trip over to Boston for this growing conference.
Connected health was a subject that, not surprisingly, kept cropping up in many of the presentations, and there were a number of device companies at the event showcasing their digital technology solutions or digital ready devices. The 15 minute device technology presentations were a very effective way of keeping abreast of who is doing what and what new tech is available for licensing.
As for Boston itself, it was a great host city. If you get a chance to visit, be sure to go to Quincy market for some great food and make use of the ‘Hubway’ bike-share scheme to ride off the extra calories from eating too many lobster rolls.
Thanks for having us PODD. See you next year?
