A highlight at this year’s Pharmapack Europe conference was the unveiling of SHL Medical’s Quanta device. The innovative product is a new automatic, multi-fixed-dose pen specifically designed to enhance patient-centric drug delivery for cardiometabolic therapies.

Team Consulting was delighted to present alongside SHL Medical, during an engaging session: “Multi-dose Peptide Delivery Systems – Collaborative Innovation for Scalable, Patient-Centric Solutions”. The talk provided valuable insights into the joint efforts behind the development of advanced combination products.

Courtney Sutton, Head of Portfolio Strategy at SHL Medical, and Alex Driver, Head of Industrial Design at Team, presented on the design, development and manufacturing involved in creating a multi-dose injector for peptide therapies. The presentation emphasised the importance of cross-partner collaboration and shared insights on key considerations throughout the product’s development, ensuring that patient needs remain at the forefront of innovation.

During the presentation they discussed:

  • Market-driven insights that highlight the evolving needs and challenges associated with multi-dose peptide delivery devices
  • Strategies for developing scalable and innovative platforms, specifically engineered for high-volume manufacturing and commercial viability
  • Approaches for embedding patient centricity and usability at the core of device innovation, ensuring solutions are intuitive and benefit end users.
