PDA Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products Conference 2025

Team Consulting enjoyed attending PDA Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products Conference 2025, a global event uniting regulators, scientists and industry leaders to explore the evolving landscape of advanced therapies.

Our experts, Laureline Mahe and Joseph Conroy  each presented insightful poster sessions. Their sessions included innovation in cell and gene therapy manufacturing and user-centred design for automated bioprocessing platforms.

Automation, decentralisation, standardisation: a path for personalised medicine manufacture

Thursday 26th June 2025
In this poster session, Laureline Mahe, Head of Applied Science explored how emerging technologies are reshaping the manufacture of personalised cell and gene therapies. The presentation provided insight into:

  • Integrating automation and process analytical technologies within cell and gene therapy manufacture for reduced costs and improved quality
  • The value of decentralised manufacture for the production of small-batch personalised therapies
  • Building confidence in the efficacy of cell and gene manufacture through standardisation.

User-centred design for effective cGMP compliant, automated bioprocessing platforms in cell and gene therapies

Thursday 26th June 2025
In this poster session, Joseph Conroy, Consultant Mechanical Engineer, presented guidance on developing efficient and user-centred designs for automated bioprocessing platforms with strong adoption potential, including:

  • The importance of user-centred design in the creation of automated bioprocessing platforms to improve regulatory compliance (cGMP/GAMP) and usability for therapy developers, increasing the accessibility of life-saving therapies
  • Why end users should be involved early on in development to identify common pain points and help shape friction-free workflows that create reliable, cost-effective systems
  • How well-designed, user-centred platforms support personalised cell and gene therapies that are more accessible and scalable.
