Company update

As we celebrate our 40-year anniversary we’re spotlighting what makes Team Consulting thrive – our people. We are proud to support our clients in helping to improve patient lives and we are equally motivated to make a difference beyond the workplace. The following are just a few of the recent activities and charities our team have been involved with – supporting the community surrounding our 13th century barn and beyond.

The sky is the limit

Two brave colleagues, Annie Hughes and Kay Sinclair, inspired us with their skydive to raise money for Maggie’s – a charity that supports people living with cancer whether that be managing stress, providing social support, financial assistance and so much more.

I’ve always wanted to do a skydive and also wanted to fundraise for Maggie’s so when the opportunity came up to do both I jumped at the chance! Maggie’s is a wonderful charity which has been an amazing support for me over the past year, it felt great to give back and raise a large sum of money for it. The skydive was exhilarating and better than I’d expected – the smile didn’t leave my face!

A dip with a difference

At sea, our director of new business development, Kate Hudson-Farmer, swam 1K to raise over 1K for Teenage Cancer Trust, “the only UK charity providing specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer” as well as support for their loved ones.

“I was so inspired by a very close family member who battled, and thankfully won, her fight against cancer at the tender age of 16, and the wonderful support she received, and still does, from The Teenage Cancer Trust. So, I decided to do an open water swim to raise money for this amazing charity.

I was so humbled and touched by all the generous donations and words of both encouragement and sensitivity I received, that doing this swim “challenge” was most definitely a pleasure, not a chore. Looking forward to doing the next one!”

The Team challenge walk

On dry land, an adventurous group took part in a ‘Team challenge walk’ – taking on The Yorkshire Three Peaks, conquering Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and covering 1592 meters of elevation to a target of 12 hours – their efforts made more rewarding by raising money for the mental health charity, Mind, that provides life-changing, on-demand support.

Group of people walking

Raising money for Mind was so appropriate, as walking, especially in the countryside, is increasingly being recognised for its substantial mental health benefits; and how could you feel stressed in such beautiful countryside, along with good company?

The highlights would be: most exhilarating – reaching the top of Pen-y-Ghent, most rewarding – everyone completing all three peaks, most uplifting – the sun breaking through the hill fog and most impressive – everyone kept smiling!

Driving sustainable, responsible practices through IT

Sustainability is important to the industry and to our clients. At Team, we are committed to continuously improving our sustainable and responsible business practices.

One of our recent sustainability initiatives was led by our IT team – laptops, phones and servers used in the business that need to be upgraded were offered to staff in exchange for a charitable donation. In the past year, this has raised over £600 for charity. In addition, we donate equipment directly to good causes, such as donations to repurpose in schools.

Supporting our local community

We are proud to support our community in the rural Cambridge countryside, which is why we attended Ickleton Cricket Club’s VP’s Day celebration as sponsors. As a medical device consultancy, it’s no surprise health and wellness is a big part of our culture at Team and supporting activities like these is just one way we encourage healthy living and community.

Game of cricket

As always, the club is very grateful for Team Consulting’s continuing support. Every penny we receive in sponsorship makes a great difference. Recently, we started league cricket for our youth players, and in another first, we inaugurated a women’s team, which has grown from strength to strength.

At Team Consulting, helping our clients to improve patients’ lives is what we do. As an employee-owned trust, we are equally committed to supporting our colleagues to make a difference beyond the workplace. We are proud to match charity donations for our employees’ valuable fundraising activities – helping give back to the communities that mean most to them.
