A world-first hearing health assessment system, developed by TympaHealth and Team Consulting, has reached the finals of the iF Design Awards 2021. Running since 1953, the iF award recognises outstanding design and is one of the most prestigious marks of quality in the world.
Hearing loss affects millions of people across the globe, however for many care is disjointed and hard to access. The Tympa System is a portable smartphone-enabled otoscope used in conjunction with an app, designed to make successful hearing healthcare more accessible. Developed for use by both specialist and non-specialist professionals, it is helping to improve the democratisation of healthcare in the UK and beyond.
Since its launch in 2020, the Tympa System has been impressing the design community across the world, having already won gold in the 2020 UX Design Awards and a GOOD Design Award. This year, it was selected for the iF design finals out of a record-breaking 10,000 entries from over 50 nations. The final winners will be announced in April, so watch this space!
