Ensuring user safety involves a variety of effective design considerations, from the device user interface to packaging and industrial design. Standardization has also been an effective way of helping to promote user safety, as can be seen in auto-injectors with many opting for the same two-step process. However, if we look at the emergency-use injector space, there is still a lot of variety in the market. John Burke’s poster will explore why this is the case, considering user needs and why effective design and user testing is ultimately the key to ensuring safety.
