Team Consulting is delighted to announce a new collaboration with the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), part of King’s College London. Drawing on our 40-year track record in healthcare innovation, this partnership marks an acceleration in the journey from breakthrough ideas to market-ready medical technologies.
LIHE, located within the St Thomas’ Hospital campus, brings a dedicated team of academic, clinical, industrial and funding partners to bring MedTech innovations to patients and the market. Through its Medtech Venture Builder programme, LIHE is already supporting early-stage companies to build validated business cases and achieve meaningful value inflection points. It leverages King’s extensive R&D infrastructure for medical devices, as well as being deeply connected with the King’s Health Partners (KHP) member NHS Trusts, representing the leading AHSC in the UK. This uniquely integrated ecosystem significantly de-risks ventures from a technological, clinical and commercial perspective.
Team shares LIHE’s mission to rapidly and cost-effectively translate MedTech innovations into commercially viable products that improve patient outcomes and deliver growth to the UK economy. Team’s client OrganOx became one of the UK’s most successful Medtech spinouts having been purchased for $1.5 billion by Terumo. By joining forces, Team and LIHE will combine their world-class expertise, resources, and facilities to support entrepreneurs and early-stage companies through every stage of the MedTech translation journey—from concept to commercialisation.

The collaboration will see Team co-locate expert consultants at LIHE to provide hands-on support to cohort companies in the Medtech Venture Builder programme, offering guidance on business planning, product development, regulatory compliance, and more. This partnership is the first step towards building the UK’s premier MedTech translation ecosystem, and both organisations look forward to sharing further updates as the collaboration progresses.
