Strong financial performance in 2011 and outlook for the future drives expansion and investment
Team Consulting, the only purely medical-focused design and development company in Cambridge, has opened a dedicated, state-of-the-art Respiratory Physics laboratory at its headquarters in Ickleton. In addition to investing in the latest technology and facilities, Team has also appointed Mark Shepherd, a full-time Pharmaceutical Scientist to manage the laboratory suite.
Mark previously worked as a Physical Properties Scientist in respiratory product development at GSK and will ensure that Team’s new laboratory is managed in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to achieve compliance with the stringent regulatory guidelines faced by its clients.
“In recent years we have worked for six of the world’s top ten pharma companies and for them it is important to see us making this investment in facilities and quality procedures that match theirs, from the validation of test equipment down to the traceable cGMP laboratory notebooks that we will be using. This enables the seamless transfer between our facilities and those of our clients and it gives our engineers and designers a purpose built space to test and analyse early-stage prototypes through to drug products in a dedicated cGMP controlled area,” said Shepherd.
As well as the company’s 25th year, 2011 marked Team’s most successful year to date and the company is embarking on a phase of growth that will see the company take on further office and laboratory space and more staff as it keeps up with the demands of its client-base.
“Our stellar performance in 2011 comes on the back of years spent building a reputation for rigour and creativity, and especially strong relationships with clients, who really buy-in to our approach and culture,” commented Chief Commercial Officer Dan Flicos. “They like coming to people who really understand the industry and who can give them insight into the issues they face and the opportunities that exist. They see us as an extension to their company and we both benefit from the result of this close relationship.”
To support this growth Team is looking to recruit a number of new experts, details of which can be found on the company’s website: www.team-consulting.com/careers.
