Company update

It may not be a RedDot Design Award, an IET Innovation Award or a British Engineering Excellence Award, but we are pleased to announce that we have come second in the UK National Cycle Challenge which ran from June 8 – 28th.

This year’s competition featured 27,000 participants at over 1,500 organisations in the UK with over 1.7 million miles recorded in the three week challenge. Competing in the 50-199 employee category, 86% of our employees got involved. The winner of the challenge in our category was National Energy Services, a Milton Keynes based organisation who successfully accomplished a perfect 100% participation rate. This achievement follows another runner-up result two years earlier in the 2013 Cambridgeshire Cycle Challenge where we encouraged 78% of our staff to cycle around Cambridgeshire. In the past two years, Team Consulting has grown by 43% to 73 members of staff, but despite this, we managed to exceed our previous result, by encouraging 63 members of staff to get on their bikes. Over the three week challenge, Team’s cyclists logged 3,519 miles ranging from commuting to organised group bike rides around Cambridgeshire.

Dan Flicos, CEO of Team Consulting and keen cyclist, commented: “Achieving second place in this national cycling competition is a great achievement and it was great fun to be part of. We work hard, so it is only right that we do what we can to encourage healthy living and a positive culture. Cycling and other sports are a great way to do this.” “For many of us in Cambridge and the surrounding area, you can’t escape cycling of some form. While we do have a number of cyclists who commute all year round, this challenge was a great excuse for others who don’t cycle that much to dust off their bikes and join in the fun.”
