Energist already had an established presence in the beauty therapy market with their variable pulsed light system for skin rejuvenation. Our client wanted to create a product positioned in the medical sector, specifically the post-operative ‘aesthetic medical’ market where their system could be used to help speed up the healing process of scar tissue. To achieve this goal, Energist needed the product’s form, function and overall visual language to fit in with the new operational environment, to be distinct from the competition, and instil confidence amongst clinicians and patients.
We worked closely with Energist to establish a strong visual identity for the product that would change customer and user perception, and in doing so support entry into the new market. The new design also needed to meet practical requirements to enable remote servicing. Our role also included the sourcing and assessment of new manufacturing partners leading to a design freeze and transfer to production within a very short time frame.
